Experience

Mr. Essig founded and serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sangamon Industries. A world-class turnaround professional, Mr. Essig is responsible for the investment and management activities of the firm and its companies.

Prior to founding Sangamon in early 2008, Mr. Essig held a variety of leadership positions in corporate management within the industrial, manufacturing and distribution industries. He has been CEO, CFO or a board member for a number of public and private firms based in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Specifically, he has had extensive experience restructuring businesses and managing operational turnaround situations for a number of private equity firms including Bain Capital, Monomoy Capital Partners, and Pfingsten Partners.

Mr. Essig holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago and a MBA degree from the University of Illinois. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
